Tom Voyce scored two tries as Wasps plunged Leeds deeper into Guinness Premiership relegation trouble.

With Saracens beating Worcester, the Yorkshire side, who have failed to beat Wasps in all their nine Premiership clashes, are now 11 points adrift at the foot of the table.

Right-wing Paul Sackey and full-back Mark Van Gisbergen secured the bonus point with the other Wasps tries, with Van Gisbergen converting all four for a personal contribution of 13 points.

It took Wasps only four minutes to take the lead, with a powerful rolling maul setting up the opening try.

England lock Simon Shaw broke off the back of the juggernaut and Wasps worked the ball the width of the pitch, through the hands of Jeremy Staunton, Josh Lewsey and Van Gisbergen for Voyce to touch down in the left corner.

Sixteen minutes later Stuart Abbott provided the final pass for Sackey to touch down near the right corner flag.

The first-half loss of Sackey, who aggravated the hamstring he tweaked in the pre-match warm-up, and flanker Tom Rees, who went to hospital for an X-ray on his left leg after being helped off, failed to unsettle Wasps.

Leeds were denied a try just before half-time when speedy left-wing Tom Biggs, chasing his own kick, was pulled back by Shaw who was sin-binned. They elected to kick for touch and drove for the line but spilled the ball.

Leeds, who looked to have a valid case for a penalty try as a result of Shaw's blatant infringement, failed to take advantage of their temporary numerical advantage during his 10-minute absence.

Back to full strength, Wasps struck again in the 55 minute when an horrendous blunder by Leeds saw Voyce, back on the wing after playing full-back in England's final RBS 6 Nations defeat by Ireland, intercepted a wayward pass from full-back Roland de Marigny to run 40 metres unchallenged for his second try.

The Leeds man almost made amends when he evaded a tackle from Wasps fly-half Staunton but he was halted agonisingly short of the line by a fine combined tackle from Joe Worsley and Ayoola Erinle.

Minutes later Leeds centre Chris Bell was forced into touch inches from the line by the joint efforts of Abbott and Van Gisbergen.

Wasps secured the bonus point with a 79th-minute try in the left corner by Van Gisbergen who maintained his 100% kicking record with his fourth conversion.

Leeds' frustration spilled over as they were involved in a couple of heated exchanges in the closing minutes.

Then flanker Richard Parks was sent off in injury time.

After being shown a yellow card for a defensive infringement on his own line, referee Ashley Rowden then brandished the red card for dissent.
