Premiership champions Wasps suffered their biggest defeat of the season as Worcester hammered them at Sixways.

Ian McGeechan's men were second best all evening as their pack was exposed by Warriors' well-oiled machine and the defeat left Wasps still searching for that first win on their travels this year.

Tries from Aisea Havili, Phil Murphy, Thinus Delport plus a penalty score handed Worcester the bonus point while Wasps could only muster a touchdown from Tom Rees.

Shane Drahm hit three penalties and four conversions as Worcester got back to winning ways after three successive defeats.

The Sixways side flew out of the blocks, knocking the Premiership champions onto the back foot from the first minute.

Fly-half Drahm built on that platform with a coolly taken penalty to put the home side ahead after five minutes.

Soon after, a well-worked training ground move saw Andy Gomarsall and Mark Tucker carve out an opening for Havili and the winger made no mistake as he blew away the Wasps defence for the opening try.

Drahm did the rest with a tricky conversion and John Brain's boys were 10-0 up.

Wasps, missing 10 players including talismanic leader Lawrence Dallaglio due to internationals, looked sluggish and their job did not get any easier after hooker Joe Ward was sin-binned after an incident in the line-out.

To their credit, however, they dug in and actually reduced the deficit through the boot of Jeremy Staunton.

Wasps seemed to have weathered the Warriors' storm before Drahm punctured their momentum with a sumptuous 55-metre penalty to give the vocal Worcester support another lift.

The Australian landed another three-pointer midway through the half and, although Rees hit back for the visitors with a touchdown, referee Sean Davey awarded the Warriors a penalty try just before half-time to leave Worcester 23-8 up at the break.

Any thought of a revival from the visitors was snuffed out early on in the second period as Worcester once again squeezed on the gas.

Their brutal pack pushed Wasps back onto their own line and lock Murphy was on hand to score Worcester's third try with an opportunistic effort.

Drahm improved the score and Wasps were looking down the barrel at 30-8.

They huffed and puffed but lacked a cutting edge and when Paul Sackey was sin-binned for a high tackle on Havili, with 13 minutes left, it capped another miserable evening for the former European champions as Worcester turned their attentions to a bonus point.

And it came with just two minutes left as replacement Delport broke through after a delayed Drahm pass and Sixways erupted on another special night for the Warriors.

Drahm added his fourth conversion of the evening as wretched Wasps trudged home with nothing.
