Steve Tandy scored three tries as Neath coasted to victory in a Heineken Cup
Pool One game that saw Italian outfit Calvisano fall apart.
The Italians had three men sin-binned and one sent off as indiscipline ruined
their attempt to repeat last week's shock victory over the Welsh All Blacks.
Wayne Boardman, Gianpiero de Carli and scrum-half Paul Griffen saw yellow
before referee Eric Darriere dismissed replacement Daniele Davo for dissent.
Neath made the visitors pay with nine tries - three in the first half and six
after the break.
Flanker Tandy covered every blade of grass and deservedly picked up the
man-of-the-match award.
Two of his scores came in the opening 40 minutes as Neath built an 18-10
interval lead.
He completed his treble midway through the second period against opponents who
offered Neath little challenge and seemed on a mission to self destruct.
For Neath, Kevin James claimed two tries and Steve Jones, Adrian Durston and
Shaun Connor also crossed. There was also a penalty try.
Calvisano replied with a touchdown from wing Apenisa Vodo, but they were
always struggling against a Neath side who played at a greater pace.

Neath front-row star Duncan Jones claimed the club had gone some way to
exorcising their Italian ghosts after beating of Calvisano at The Gnoll.
Calvisano threw the Welsh All Blacks' Heineken Cup campaign into disarray a
week earlier with a 38-29 win at the Centro Sportivo San Michele.
But Neath made them pay by running in nine tries in the return.
"This win goes some way towards putting the defeat in Italy behind us," said
Jones.
"It was a massive disappointment and we spent a lot of last week talking
about how badly we had let things slip.
"We can't undo what is done but we have to move on, and scoring 50 points is
not going to do us any harm."
Man of the match was Neath flanker Steve Tandy who claimed three tries to
reward some outstanding support work and non-stop effort.
But Neath's task was made easier by the Italians having three men
yellow-carded and replacement prop Davo sent off.
Davo received a straight red for swearing at a touch judge and was later
handed a six-week suspension.
"We are not complaining about the expulsion but we are surprised by the
length of the suspension," said Calvisano president Sandro Manzoni.
