Struggling Wasps turned on the pressure against a poor Bath side at Loftus
Road with winger Kenny Logan putting the final nail in their coffin in the
second minute of injury time with a powerful penalty kick in the Zurich
Premiership.
A blow was dealt to Wasps in the sixth minute when winger Shane Roiser was
carried off after a midfield clash, his replacement being former Great Britain
Rugby League star Martin Offiah.
Wasps opened up the scoring with a penalty try in the 18th minute which was
converted by fly-half Alex King, the opening score was made shortly after Bath
flanker Gavin Thomas was sin-binned.
The 22nd minute saw flanker Joe Worsley pick up a loose ball five metres out
before touching down, King adding the conversion.
It was third time lucky for full-back Matt Perry who opened up the scoring for
Bath in the 36th minute with a successful penalty kick, having previously seen
two attempts go astray.
Soon the home side were extending their lead with a short-range King penalty
kick in the 40th minute.
With Wasps leading 17-3 at half-time, Bath came out looking determined to turn
the situation around.
Having returned to the field after being sin-binned, Thomas took the home
defence by surprise with a try, converted by Perry.
These two sides needed vital points in this basement clash of the Premiership
and both fought bravely.
Logan scored a powerful penalty kick in the 75th minute and in the second
minute of injury time he added another three points.
