London Irish fly-half Barry Everitt's tally of 21 points from the boot secured
the Exiles' fifth Zurich Premiership victory of the season - a 21-16 win against
Harlequins at the Madejski Stadium.
Everitt single-handedly kept London Irish's 100 per cent home record intact,
kicking seven penalties to Harlequins' one converted try and three penalties.
Irish went 9-3 up at the break after three Everitt penalties to Niall Woods'
one.
After the break winger Nick Greenstock made the most of a good feed by Alex
Lawson, making his Quins debut, to sprint through Irish's defence and touch down
for the first and the only try of the match after 42 minutes. Woods converted to
sneak the visitors 10-9 in front.
Everitt, however, was as consistent as ever with the boot, converting a
further three penalties to put London Irish back in the lead at 18-10.
Quins never gave up and with Woods kicking another two penalties only two
points separated the sides going into the last 10 minutes.
Everitt, though, slotted a crucial 77th-minute penalty and despite a late
charge from Quins, who were camped on their opponents' goal-line during injury
time, Irish held their nerve to clinch their seventh consecutive win.
