Gloucester have signed scrum-half Andy Williams from Moseley on a short-term contract until the end of the season.
The 28-year-old, who has also had spells at Bath, Newport Gwent Dragons and Ospreys, joined Gloucester on loan over the Christmas period with Rory Lawson sidelined after a blow to the head.
A Welsh international, he made his first senior Gloucester appearance as a replacement against the Worcester Warriors in the Guinness Premiership in January.
With the Kingsholm heading towards the business end of their campaign, head coach Bryan Redpath knows strength in depth will be critical.
"Rory Lawson is currently with Scotland and Jordi Pasqualin will be with the England U20s squad during their Six Nations campaign so we were looking a bit thin at the position," he said.
"Andy's an experienced campaigner. He's an international who has also played a significant amount of Heineken Cup rugby so he knows all about performing at the highest level."
"He will be with us initially until the end of the season and we'll see where things go from there."
