Sean Lamont has warned his Scotland team-mates their Australia heroics will be quickly forgotten if they lose Saturday's final autumn international against Argentina.

Andy Robinson's men are on the brink of a clean sweep of November Test victories, something the country has not achieved since 2002.

Scotland's first win over the Wallabies for 27 years last weekend will forever be etched in the history books.

But with no Test match now until the RBS 6 Nations in February, Lamont reckons tomorrow's result against the Pumas may provide the most lasting memory from this month's clashes.

"You're only really judged on your last game," the Scarlets winger told Press Association Sport.

"You can have a brilliant game these first two and have a stinker at the end.

"If you have a stinker against Argentina, people will remember that."

History is once again against Scotland, who have not beaten Argentina at Murrayfield since 1990.

And although they won their most recent meeting in Rosario last year, they had lost the previous seven against the Pumas.

"Some of them are classed as amateurs but they're similar to us," said Lamont of the tourists, who are missing key playmakers Felipe Contepomi and Juan Martin Hernandez.

"Their tenacity is unbelievable.

"They have got some really good players, even the squad they've got now."

Lamont is hoping to see more of the ball in attacking areas this week after spending almost the entire 80 minutes against Australia making tackles.

"I think I carried it once in attack," he said.

"Because they had so much possession, when we did get the ball, we were only looking to relieve that pressure.

"It was one of those games that was absolutely knackering - so much running.

"We were defending for most of it and defending's the hard bit."

He added: "This weekend, we're definitely going out to try to retain ball and go at them.

"We've got to bring the same defensive effort but hopefully defending for less time."

Lamont reckons if Scotland can do that, there is no better man to exploit possession than opposite wing Thom Evans, who has been recalled for tomorrow's game.

"There's no quicker winger, if not in world rugby then certainly in European rugby," Lamont said.

"When he gets in full flight, he's absolutely rapid.

"I'd love to see a race with him and Bryan Habana to see who's quicker."

Should Scotland complete a hat-trick of victories, Lamont will allow himself more of a celebration than last week, where he cut short his partying.

"I've got two small kids so that puts a dampener on any late nights," he said.

"Two kids under two, you know you're going to get up at 6am anyway."
