Picture Luger - lucky to be selected after injury nightmare

The best news for the flying England wing came with his selection for the Lions in the first place.

A serious neck injury disrupted Luger's season for almost three months and he only just returned to playing first-team rugby for Saracens towards the end of the campaign.

Not surprisingly Luger greeted the news of his selection with a mixture of joy and relief that his name had been pencilled into the squad.

Luger obviously has done enough to persuade Graham Henry of his fitness and if he can also do that where it matters on the field, Luger's presence will be of massive importance to the Lions' hopes of success.

Luger is another Lions wing with pace to burn. His mother was an international sprinter for Czechoslovakia and the player has obviously inherited her speed.
