An All Blacks debutant as recently as June, Sivivatu has superceded Joe Rokocoko in the eyes of Graham Henry and is very much cut from the same cloth as his cousin.
He showed that by crossing for a record four tries on his international debut in the 91-0 mauling of Fiji, the country of his birth, having previously impressed in the New Zealand trials with a brace.
In truth, though, Sivivatu has been an All Black in all but name for at least 18 months having carved out his reputation as a fearsome performer for the Chiefs in the Super 12.
Residency qualifications meant his debut was delayed, merely adding to the hype around a man with that rare ability to lift a whole stadium to its feet, but Fiji will vouch for just how good Sivivatu is.
As strong as an ox but also blessed with tremendous pace and superb footballing skills, the 23-year-old has the world at his feet and looks sure to become a global superstar. |
