PROFILE

The massive Crusaders lock was named New Zealand Rugby's Player of the Year for 2002 and has continued to shine at the highest level of the game despite suffering the odd bout of inconsistency.

Jack is a superb athlete with great ball-handling skills, aerial dexterity and speed around the field.

He was one of the stand-out players on the All Blacks end-of-year tour to Europe in 2004 and at 26 years of age still has a big future ahead of him.

He followed his elder brother and mentor Graham into the second row of the Canterbury and Crusaders teams and scored a try 11 minutes after coming on as a substitute in his debut Test against Argentina in 2001.
