Hull KR recovered from 16-6 down to reclaim second place in the engage Super League with a thrilling win in the final Magic Weekend match.

Warrington had looked like ending the Robins' recent run of form through early tries from Chris Hicks, Michael Monaghan and Vinnie Anderson at Murrayfield.

Yet Rovers, having fallen behind Huddersfield and Leeds earlier in the day, hit back to claim a fifth win in six games and move within a point of leaders St Helens.

Michael Dobson, Mick Vella and Clint Newton all added to Shaun Briscoe's early try to put Rovers ahead.

Even then it still needed two more from Ben Galea to make sure of the win after the prolific Hicks - following hat-tricks in his last two games - and Anderson set up a tense finish.

The game provided a gripping climax to the seven-match Edinburgh extravaganza, which attracted an aggregate crowd of 59,749 over two days.

The Wolves took an early lead through Hicks with a try set up by a break by Chris Riley. Full-back Riley surged clear from a Simon Grix pass and was hauled down close to the line by Peter Fox.

Warrington then won a penalty in front of the posts after a push on Chris Bridge by Paul Cooke but opted to run and a long Bridge pass put Hicks over in the corner.

Hicks converted but Rovers replied immediately as Galea put Briscoe through a gap and the full-back shrugged off three weak tackles to touch down.

Dobson converted but was controversially felled soon after by a late tackle from Anderson.

Warrington got back in front after Grix burst through with a strong run and dummy to set up Monaghan.

Another came just moments later as Warrington took advantage of some weak Rovers defence and Jon Clarke and Monaghan combined for Anderson to score.

Rovers toughened up for the remainder of the first half and got themselves back into contention when Dobson powered to the line from another Galea pass.

Scrum-half Dobson then stepped up to add the extras and cut the deficit to 16-12 at the break.

Rovers hit the front for the first time early in the second half when Vella hit yet another try-making Galea pass at speed and touched down despite crashing into the posts.

Justin Morgan's men then looked to have taken a firm grip after a 40-20 kick by Scott Murrell created the field position for a fourth try.

Bridge then put Warrington under further pressure by conceding a needless penalty and Newton made sure they paid the full price.

Yet the Wolves were not done and hooker Jon Clarke picked out Hicks for his second try.

Hicks' conversion got the Wolves back within two points but Galea extended Rovers' advantage again when he weaved past three tackles to score.

Newton could have sealed the game after another attack but lost the ball under pressure from Riley attempting to score. Moments earlier Rovers had opted to run a kickable penalty.

Warrington then set up a tense final two minutes as Monaghan charged at the Rovers defence and sent Anderson over.

Hicks converted again to cut the lead back to two but Galea's second try of the night in the 79th minute finally made sure for Rovers, with Dobson adding his sixth goal.
