Danny Orr inspired a rampant Harlequins side to victory as they routed winless Warrington Wolves at the Stoop.

Orr scored a try, had a hand in three others and converted all 10 Quins scores as the hosts illustrated the difficult job facing new Warrington coach Tony Smith.

Quins made the perfect start, taking the lead within the opening two minutes when Orr delayed his pass allowing Luke Dorn to dummy his way over.

But in a see-saw opening quarter, Warrington hit back with two tries of their own.

Firstly, Dorn's attempt at an interception merely presented the ball to Vinnie Anderson who cantered over, and after Danny Ward bulldozed his way over to stretch Quins' lead, Paul Rauhihi hit back with another Wolves score.

But the visitors were being pegged back by some excellent tactical kicking by both Orr and Chad Randall, and the Londoners looked a threat every time they had the ball in hand.

They increased the lead after 24 minutes as Karl Temata brushed aside a couple of challenges to barge over, before the try of the half arrived after 35 minutes.

Winger Will Sharp made a searing break, and Orr's cross-kick found Matt Gafa in acres of space to gather and stroll over the line.

Quins still had time to add another, Orr himself profiting from a Daniel Heckenberg break, and with the scrum-half converting all five tries, the hosts had a healthy half-time lead.

As Warrington heads dropped, Quins maintained the tempo and continued to score seemingly at will.

Randall chased a Dorn kick through to score early in the second period which all but ended the game as a contest, but Quins were not finished yet.

Further tries were to follow in the final quarter from Luke Gale (2), David Howell and Chris Melling as Smith's men were truly put to the sword.
