Half-back Chris Thorman scored 20 points as Huddersfield Giants finished with a flourish to secure back-to-back victories.
Bottom side Castleford, ravaged by a sickness bug in midweek, were on terms at the interval in the engage Super League clash but rarely threatened in an error-strewn second period.
Thorman scored one try and kicked eight goals from nine attempts to inspire Huddersfield in a one-sided second half.
Kiwi Paul Whatuira scored after 74 minutes following a 90-metre break by full-back Leroy Cudjoe, prop Darrell Griffin charged over from close range, and in the final minute Thorman also went over to put the seal on a comprehensive win.
Two tries in three minutes had put Huddersfield in charge in the first period. Stephen Wild and Whatuira worked to move to put winger David Hodgson in at the corner for the 100th try of his career.
Back row Jamahl Lolesi scored the Giants' second try after Luke Robinson and Kevin Brown provided the opening.
Castleford, who had taken the lead with a Craig Huby penalty, hit back on 22 minutes when teenage winger Richard Owen scooped up a pass to score in the corner.
A Thorman penalty gave Huddersfield a six-point advantage but it was all square at the break as Tigers half-back Luke Dorn pounced on a kick from Brent Sherwin to claim his 16th try of the season.
Castleford wasted excellent opportunities either side of the break and were made to pay after 58 minutes when their former skipper Ryan Hudson, who is strongly rumoured to be set for a return to the Jungle, burrowed his way over.
Within a minute of taking the field, home substitute Michael Korkidas was sin-binned for a late challenge on Robinson, an offence which enabled Thorman to stretch the lead to 20-14.
Griffin and Tigers half-back Ryan McGoldrick were then yellow-carded for fighting a minute later.
Another Thorman penalty nudged the Giants further ahead before a late points flurry completed the resounding victory.
