Catalans' France internationals put their humiliating defeat by England behind them to help their club to a sixth away win of the season to consolidate third place in engage Super League.

Centre Sebastien Raguin, one of eight Dragons players in the French side hammered 56-8 in Toulouse last Friday, scored one try and created three others as the visitors turned on the style in the second half to end Wakefield's four-match winning run and dump them out of the top six.

Catalans looked to be still in shock from their 10-try mauling by England when conceding two tries tries in the first 13 minutes - and they trailed 14-10 at half-time, before turning the game on its head with an impressive second-half show.

It was the Catalans' first win in four attempts at Belle Vue and moves them to within a point of second-placed St Helens.

Wakefield, who had the chance to reclaim fourth place, produced some sparkling rugby and made a dream start with two early superbly-worked tries.

The Catalans needed last-ditch tackles by Alex Chan and Clint Greenshields to keep their line intact. But they could do little to prevent right winger Sean Gleeson opening the scoring on eight minutes after taking Brad Drew's long, floated pass.

Confidence gained from four straight wins was in full evidence in Wakefield's next try-scoring move in which second rower Duncan MacGillivray neatly slipped the ball out of the tackle to release centre Ryan Atkins, whose equally deft pass got winger Damien Blanch haring for the line.

Danny Brough's first conversion made it 10-0. But the French side illustrated their danger when Raguin sliced through the home defence after pouncing on a loose ball, and the supporting Casey McGuire brushed off the attempted tackle of Blanch to touch down.

Thomas Bosc added the conversion - and although Brough landed a penalty goal, the visitors cut the deficit to just four points five minutes before the break when Bosc and Adam Mogg worked the ball out to the left where Raguin put in a perfectly-judged kick for winger Youness Khattabi to touch down for the first of his two tries.

Bosc missed the conversion, and Brough put four points between the sides with a second penalty in first-half stoppage time.

But that was as good as it got for the Challenge Cup semi-finalists, who had the misfortune to lose captain Jason Demetriou with an ankle injury early in the second half.

Raguin, a second rower transformed into a threequarter, proved unstoppable after taking Bosc's pass 10 metres from the line to level the scores on 42 minutes - and, when Blanch dropped the ball over the line on 57 minutes, it proved to be a turning point.

Khattabi got his finger tips to another Raguin kick to claim his second try, and McGuire pounced for his second on 62 minutes after Wakefield full-back Matt Blaymire failed to drop on a kick from Bosc - who took his goal tally to five from seven attempts.
