Huddersfield found their scoring touch to blitz sorry Castleford and leave the promoted side as the only team without a point after the first three rounds of Super League.
The Giants were the least productive side after two rounds but opened their account in style, running in 12 tries against a threadbare Castleford side who were totally outclassed and look to be facing a long, hard season.
There were no fewer than 10 different Huddersfield scorers, with captain Chris Thorman leading the points spree with a try and eight goals from 12 attempts.
The Tigers, down to their last 17 players with Australian scrum-half Brent Sherwin among their latest list of absentees with a quad injury, had been competitive in their first two games but coach Terry Matterson will be alarmed at the way his side fell off tackles and were all too easily pulled out of position.
The writing was on the wall for the visitors as early as the fourth minute when Huddersfield winger Shane Elford crossed the tryline unopposed only to have the try disallowed for offside.
Castleford were unable to get out of their own half in a torrid opening and the pressure told with two tries in four minutes from Luke Robinson and man of the match Rod Jensen.
The Tigers scored their only try of a one-sided first half from their first meaningful attack on 17 minutes when winger Michael Wainwright finished off a break by full-back Luke Dorn and Joe Westerman added the goal.
But that was as good as it got for the visitors, whose fragile defence was breached three more times in the second quarter.
Even the loss of scrum-half Robinson, who was dazed while attempting to prevent the try, did little to disrupt their rhythm, with Thorman switching effectively from full-back and Jensen providing a new cutting edge from deep.
Stand-off Kevin Brown demonstrated deceptive strength to force his way over the line and then sent second rower Steve Snitch over with a sublime pass.
Elford also touched down before half-time, when Huddersfield led 28-6, and the home side cut loose in the second half with four tries in a devastating eight-minute spell.
The ever-dangerous Jensen ran the ball back after taking Anthony Thackeray's attempted clearance kick to send Thorman over and Jamahl Lolesi and Paul Whatuira quickly followed him to the line after some sparkling passing.
Robinson returned to the fray 10 minutes into the second half and immediately showed his class with a pinpoint kick for Lolesi to claim his second try.
Makeshift scrum-half Peter Lupton grabbed a consolation try for Castleford, with Westerman adding his second goal, but the one-way traffic continued right to the end.
Former Castleford prop Keith Mason touched down after hooker George Gatis had the ball ripped from his grasp in the act of scoring, Robinson supported a break by the impressive Eorl Crabtree to claim his second and second rower Andy Raleigh went through a tired defence three minutes from the end.
