Harlequins produced a magnificent second-half comeback to pick up their second win of the season against woeful Wakefield.

Brian McDermott's side faced an uphill task after the break when Brett Ferres' try gave the Wildcats an 18-10 lead.

But 24 unanswered points courtesy of tries from Chad Randall, Rikki Sheriffe, Henry Paul and Louie McCarthy-Scarsbrook saw Harlequins take the game away from the visitors.

Irish international Scott Grix marked his Wakefield debut by scoring the opening try early on which Danny Brough converted.

But Quins quickly hit back with Scott Hill crashing through the visitors' defence to score just five minutes later and Rob Purdham restored parity with the conversion.

And the hosts were in front just moments later following a wonderful dummy from Randall allowed Matt Gafa to cross the whitewash for a simple four points.

But Wildcats substitute Sam Obst eased John Kear's side into a 12-10 half-time lead as he raced through to score underneath the posts with his first touch of the ball, leaving Brough to add the extra two points.

Ferres' try within minutes of the kick-off looked to have put Wakefield in control.

Wing David Howell had a try chalked off for a forward pass for Quins but from the resulting scrum, Kevin Henderson's fumble allowed Randall to give the hosts a lifeline.

And when Luke George dropped Hill's high kick, which Sheriffe pounced on to score a minute later, Wakefield were on the rack.

Paul bulldozed his way over the line to extend McDermott's side's lead before promising forward McCarthy-Scarsbrook breezed his way through the frail Wakefield defence to score.

And despite Wakefield enjoying more of the ball in the final minutes of the game, they could not make a dent in Harlequins' lead and slumped to their second successive defeat.
