Richie Mathers scored a 50-metre touchdown on his debut as Wigan recorded a 42-18 victory at Widnes in their final pre-season friendly.
The former Leeds full-back, who joined the Warriors from Gold Coast Titans in Australia, showed no ill-effects from a second serious knee injury to give an assured display as the Warriors completed their preparations for their engage Super League opener at Harlequins in a fortnight.
Harrison Hansen notched a hat-trick in a comfortable Warriors victory in front of 5,151 at the Halton Stadium, although there will be concerns over the well-being of scrum-half Thomas Leuluai, who was forced off after only five minutes with an injury to his left arm.
Wigan opened the scoring as early as the fourth minute, skipper Sean O'Loughlin touching down after a neat kick from Trent Barrett.
The Vikings kept the score at 6-0 until the 20-minute mark, but the Warriors stepped up a gear and crossed for four tries in the space of nine minutes to cement their authority on the game.
First, Mickey Higham sneaked over from close range, then Barrett threw an outrageous dummy after a good offload from Andy Coley to score by the posts.
Hansen crashed through three would-be tacklers to just reach over the line for his side's fourth try, and the young second row then made a superb break down the middle from the kick-off to put Mathers in for his debut-day try.
Pat Richards was faultless with the boot for a 30-0 lead but, to their credit, Widnes came back with two tries of their own in the last 10 minutes of the half.
After forcing a repeat set on the Wigan line, prop Iain Morrison barged over under the posts, before the Vikings spun the ball out right in the last tackle of the half for Dean Gaskell to squeeze in at the corner.
Two goals from Tim Hartley closed the gap to 30-12 at the interval, but Wigan extended their lead just eight minutes into the second period.
After a bout of fisticuffs between Morrison and Eamon O'Carroll, which was placed on report, Hansen burst through to score under the uprights.
Another skirmish followed involving Mike McIlorum and Gaskell, which resulted in both men being sin-binned, before Thomas Coyle put Hansen over for his hat-trick, Nicky Stanton adding his second goal with Richards off the field to re-establish the 30-point cushion.
Paul Noone grabbed the final score of the day to the delight of the home faithful, with Hartley ensuring the 100% kicking record from both sides remained intact.
