Hull's expected progress to the fifth round of the Carnegie Challenge Cup came in comfortable fashion against National League outfit Hunslet at the KC Stadium.

Having struggled so produce any consistent form in the engage Super League so far this season, Peter Sharp's men ran in 14 unanswered tries against their part-time opposition, who never threatened to cause an upset from the moment Kirk Yeaman opened the scoring in the sixth minute.

In particular, Great Britain centre Yeaman is one player from last season's losing Grand Final side that has failed to perform so far this season, and Sharp will no doubt be hoping his brace of tries will provide the catalyst for him to rediscover the form that brought him 22 tries in 2006.

Others beneficiaries from the run-out against lower league opposition were scrum-half Richard Horne and utility back Motu Tony, while there was an appearance on the wing for 19-year-old Craig Hall, who marked his senior debut with a personal haul of 34 points, including a hat-trick of tries.

After Yeaman's opening score, Hull ran away with the game for the remainder of the first half and led 52-0 at the interval courtesy of eight further tries.

Yeaman was responsible for one, whilst Hall (two), Shayne McMenemy, Horne, Scott Wheeldon, Matt Sing and Willie Manu all cashed in.

Manu's try was well deserved as the second-row forward was a danger throughout with his offload game, while McMenemy's score was the pick of the tries, racing 40 metres and beating three Hunslet defenders in the process.

With Richard Swain rested by Sharp, his understudy Wayne Godwin was able to play the full 80 minutes and was undoubtedly the star of the show, with his movement from dummy half only adding to Hull's air of dominance and causing the visitors further problems.

A brief Steve Morton break in the first half apart, Hunslet were never dangerous and although they kept Hull quiet for the opening 15 minutes of the second period, Hall's third try opened the floodgates once more.

Replacement Matty Dale was the next to cross the whitewash before Godwin crashed into the post before spinning over the line for his first try for the club.

His second followed moments later after Dale broke clear of the defence, before Manu completed the rout with his second try.
