Warrington came back from 12-0 down inside the first quarter to go level at the top of the Super League table and end Harlequins' unbeaten start to the season.

The Wolves were staring down the barrel of a second defeat when Quins crossed for two early tries but once Warrington clicked into gear the home side had no answer.

Brian McDermott's men, buoyed by their impressive start to the campaign, came flying out of the traps and hit the front in the eighth minute.

Australian imports Scott Hill and Mark McLinden combined to send winger Matt Gafa clear and he crossed under the posts and Paul Sykes added the two points.

Seven minutes later Quins were in again. Scrum-half Danny Orr sent half-back colleague Hill through the Wolves defence 10 yards out and he did the rest.

Sykes again added the conversion from under the posts to give Quins a 12-0 lead but that finally woke Warrington from their slumber and they were back in the match within a minute.

Captain Lee Briers found centre Martin Gleeson with a stunning pass and he went in at the corner but Briers could not add the goal.

That gave Paul Cullen's men the lift they needed and they cut the deficit to four 12 minutes before the break.

Martin Gleeson's pass released winger Henry Fa'afili and he danced round Chris Melling to go over in the corner.

And the New Zealand international was at it again eight minutes after the break to bring the visitors level. Brothers Mark and Martin Gleeson linked up to send the powerful winger crashing over in the corner.

Briers again failed to add the extra two but the Wolves were in for their fourth try in the 64th minute.

Brent Grose's reverse pass had the Quins defence in tatters and full-back Stuart Reardon burst through and crossed close to the touchline.

Briers handed the goal kicking duties over to substitute Chris Bridge and he added the two for an 18-12 lead.

Briers added a 30-yard drop goal six minutes from time for a further cushion and that was enough to send his side level with Bradford and surprise package Hull KR at the summit.
