Hull extended their winning run to 13 games with a win over Warrington at the KC Stadium, although they were never allowed to settle by a gritty Wolves outfit.

During the course of their run which has handed them a share of second place in the table, they have now beaten all 11 other sides in the competition.

It seems that every time Peter Sharp's men play at the moment a new record is set and this game was no exception, with Richard Horne equalling the club record of scoring in 11 straight games.

The scrum-half set a new engage Super League record of scoring in consecutive games at Salford last weekend, whilst a generous pass from brother Graeme under the posts against Warrington allowed him to pull level with Jack Harrison who originally posted the record back in 1915.

The try was also important in the context of the game, as the home side were in trouble and awaiting the interval at the time.

At one point they had led 18-0, before tries from Toa Kohe-Love and Logan Swann pulled Warrington back into the game at 18-12.

Horne's try, right on the half-time hooter, opened up a 12-point gap and Hull rarely looked back in the second half.

After a studious start from both sides, teenager Danny Washbrook opened the scoring, grounding Paul Cooke's kick, before Gareth Raynor raced the length of the field for the second after intercepting Stuart Reardon's pass.

Motu Tony, switched from full-back to wing, then touched down after collecting Cooke's cross-field kick, with the latter again adding the goal.

Cooke, recently named the competition's player of the month for June, was outshining opposite number Lee Briers in every department, although an apparent injury suffered by the Wolves talisman in the 13th minute may have been a factor.

Regardless, Warrington pressed on and soon posted a quick-fire double to get back into the game.

First Kohe-Love collected Brent Grose's knock down to score after Briers' high kick, before Swann sprinted on to Martin Gleeson's pass just moments later.

Hull were looking in trouble too, although Horne's try in the last seconds of the half relieved their worries.

After a Cooke kick ahead, the loose ball fell to Graeme Horne who ran to the posts and waited for Richard to arrive and score.

The second half began with Raynor dragging Henry Fa'afili into touch when a try appeared to be going begging.

Nathan Blacklock's unnecessary ball juggling then hampered Hull's chances of a further score.

Blacklock was tested under the high ball too, as Warrington, bidding to avoid a fifth league defeat in six, began to apply some serious pressure.

They were rewarded when Grose intercepted Tommy Lee's pass to score under the posts.

Lee had little time to dwell on his error though, as three minutes later he collected Blacklock's ball to post the clinching try.

There was still time though for Shaun Briscoe and Richie Barnett to trade tries, with the latter marking his return to Humberside with the last score of the game.
