Bradford Bulls produced a classy display at the Twickenham Stoop to blitz Harlequins in an engage Super League fixture that was effectively over by half-time.

Shontayne Hape, Lesley Vainikolo and Andy Lynch claimed doubles and there was a try apiece for Marcus St Hilaire, Marcus Bai, Stuart Fielden and Karl Pryce.

A devastating five-try salvo in 15 first-half minutes left the home side facing a 30 points deficit, scrum-half Paul Deacon directing operations for the Bulls.

There were replies from Mark McLinden in the first half and Lee Hopkins and Zebastian Luisi in the second, but the result was never in doubt.

The Bulls opened their account after six minutes when Terry Newton's half break sent Bai away down the right and the wing passed inside to St Hilaire, who strolled over.

Quins hit back four minutes later when Rob Purdham surprised a dozy Bradford defence and made a dash for the line.

St Hilaire hauled him down but Luke Dorn spread the ball wide to McLinden, who wriggled over.

Moments later the Australian full-back almost set up a score for David Mills but the chance went begging.

The visitors' formidable forwards were reeking havoc and charges by Lynch and Fielden helped create an overlap for Bai to cross in the corner.

Vainikolo intercepted 30 metres out to add another after 22 minutes and Lynch was the beneficiary of more sustained pressure after 25.

Deacon set up a try for Hape with a precise grubber kick and with Bradford camped on the Quins line, Fielden took Newton's superb flat pass to make it 36-6 at the interval.

Harlequins clawed back some of the difference six minutes into the second period.

A loose pass brought Bradford players out of their defensive line and gave Hopkins space to collect and score.

But Hape bounced off two would-be tacklers and side-stepped the helpless McLinden to put the visitors back in command.

McLinden remained a threat but a couple of darting runs were all the home side could offer in attack.

Deacon's kick put Vainikolo's second on a plate and Luisi's late score meant little even before Pryce completed the scoring.
