Hull KR coach Justin Morgan was delighted to see his side post their first league win at Headingley for 25 years as they defeated Leeds 17-10.
Liam Colbon, Peter Fox and Shaun Briscoe gave the east Yorkshire side a 16-6 lead at the interval with the hosts expected to rally.
And although Leeds managed to reduce the deficit to six points with a score from Keith Senior, the Robins held on for a memorable win.
Morgan, whose side lost out 31-18 to Wakefield last time out, said: "I'm very pleased. I think it's appropriate to use 'bouncebackability' this week.
"I think Iain Dowie, who has been welcomed to our wonderful city, invented the phrase, so it was great from that point of view and it's been 25 years since Hull KR won at Headingley.
"We've been very close a couple of times but it's very satisfying to get the points."
Hull KR lost to Leeds on three occasions last season and Leeds were expected to battle back to victory - but the Rovers defence stood firm.
"We dug in," added Morgan. "We showed some of the characteristics that we'd much prefer to see.
"We're a team that's based on working really hard for each other. I thought we did that defensively a lot of the time during the game.
"Our effort on the inside was very evident.
"At different stages Leeds threw plenty at us and we did well to repel that and get the victory."
Morgan now wants his side to follow-up the win.
"It's the same two points you get every week," he said. "I'm not jumping to the sky just yet. Like any win you have to back it up with another to make it worthwhile."
Brian McClennan insisted he was proud of his somewhat inexperienced side's efforts despite their loss being their fourth from their opening seven fixtures.
Kallum Watkins, who suffered an anterior cruciate ligament injury in Leeds' defeat to Huddersfield, has joined Scott Donald (dislocated shoulder) and back rowers Greg Eastwood (fractured wrist) and Carl Ablett (ankle) on the long-term casualty list with Kevin Sinfield (thigh) not featuring again.
McClennan said: "It's just the way it goes and we're not going to use injuries as an excuse for our position in the table.
"It's part and parcel of the season and other clubs will go through this too hopefully.
"We'll keep working hard and we'll work our way back."
The Rhinos coach, who insisted his side did enough to warrant victory, added: "I'm really proud of the lads they dug in and tried very hard. We had to do too much tackling in the last quarter than we'd have liked.
"But if we have got a little bit more ball we would have come home.
"We created chances throughout the game to dot down but we just didn't get over the line."
