Unheralded centre Michael Shenton is hoping to grab a slice of the limelight for England in Saturday's Gillette Four Nations final against Australia.
While the spotlight so far has been on England's impressive pack and Australia's talented backline, Shenton has quietly but effectively gone about his business, helping shore up England's left-sided defence.
The Castleford man looks certain to keep his spot for the final when coach Tony Smith names his team at lunchtime and will hope to show a bumper crowd at Elland Road that he can shine on attack as well as defence and help his winger, Ryan Hall, add to his 34-try tally for the year.
"I would like to get a little bit more ball and maybe show what I do with it but defensively we've put some strong carries in," he said.
"When you've got a pack like we've got, they're bound to get the headlines but yeah it is a little bit annoying.
"We've got a very young backline. We can go about our business and maybe come up with some massive plays at the weekend that will shock people.
"We've been trying our hardest in training but it's just not coming off in the games. Hopefully I can put Ryan away for a couple and maybe even get one myself."
Shenton, 23, will once more be up against the experienced Justin Hodges after the Brisbane Broncos centre fought off competition from 21-year-old Michael Jennings.
Australia coach Tim Sheens sprung one surprise when he named his team, calling up Penrith Panthers second rower Luke Lewis for his first start.
The 26-year-old winger-turned forward, who made his Test debut as a substitute in the Kangaroos' 26-16 win over England at Wigan last month, gets the vote ahead of Manly's Anthony Watmough in the only change to that team.
Sheens will finalise his bench from a six-man panel which includes Jennings, who scored a hat-trick on debut against France, and utility player Kurt Gidley, who was the coach's man of the match in Paris.
If rain is forecast for Saturday, Sheens may leave out both Jennings and Gidley and follow England's lead in having four forwards on the bench.
