New Zealand will give a debut to 19-year-old Kieran Foran against England in Saturday's crunch Gillette Four Nations clash at Huddersfield.
The Manly Sea Eagles utility player, the youngest member of the Kiwis' 23-man squad, has been chosen by coach Stephen Kearney as the replacement for his injured club-mate Steve Matai at left centre.
Foran got the vote ahead of Krisnan Inu once Kearney decided against switching St Helens-bound Iosia Soliola from the second row.
"We had some options but, when we looked at it, Kieran is the player we believe best suits our needs for this game," said Kearney.
"He's a confident young player who has been working really hard ever since we came into camp and he certainly deserves this chance.
"We've been thrilled with the way our new players have handled themselves when given their chance to play for the Kiwis over the last few weeks and we have great confidence in Kieran doing the same.
"He'll certainly bring a lot of energy and ability into the side for Saturday night's game."
Foran, a 2007 Junior Kiwi who made his NRL debut this year, becomes the Kiwis' sixth debutant in the last four weeks following the introduction of Bryson Goodwin, Junior Sau, Frank-Paul Nuuausala, Jared Waerea-Hargreaves and Ben Matulino.
Foran's inclusion is the only change to the side that started last week's 62-12 win over France in Toulouse, while prop Jeff Lima has recovered from a calf injury to replace back rower Greg Eastwood, who has been ruled out of the rest of the tournament with a broken hand.
