The future of Championship One club Oldham was secured on Tuesday when an Inland Revenue winding-up order for £47,000, due to be heard in a London court tomorrow, was withdrawn.

In addition to settling the tax bill, chief executive Chris Hamilton has bought former chairman Bill Quinn's 75% stake in the club and becomes the Roughyeds' owner and only shareholder.

Hamilton is set to hold talks with coach Tony Benson, who returned home to New Zealand at the end of the season, about a possible return to the club in time to take charge of pre-season training later this month.
