New Zealand's Leeds-bound forward Greg Eastwood is predicting "full-on war" against England in Saturday's do-or-die Four Nations clash in Huddersfield.

Eastwood, who is joining the Super League champions at the end of the tournament, helped the Kiwis to an emphatic 62-12 win over France in Toulouse that sets up a likely showdown with England to determine Australia's final opponents.

"It'll be good to come up against some of my team-mates for next year but I'm sure they'll come out not as team-mates but part of the English team," Eastwood told the tournament's official website.

"I'll be doing the same with the Kiwis and it's going to be full-on war on Saturday.

"I expect England to come out strong, as they always do, with a few offloads, the way the game is played in England. It's going to be a good battle for us to see where we're at."

Eastwood missed New Zealand's opening 20-20 draw with the Kangaroos because of a hamstring injury but reported no problems on his comeback and the Kiwis are confident back rower Bronson Harrison will recover from a calf problem in time to face England.

However, centre Steve Matai is set to miss the game at the Galpharm Stadium with internal bleeding in his left eye.

The Manly player reeled out of a tackle on substitute Andrew Bentley in the 30th minute of Saturday's match and stumbled several times as he was helped from the field by a trainer.

He was taken to hospital for tests on a possible fractured eye socket and will be examined again when the squad arrive back in England.

Matai has been told to rest for five days but the Kiwis are hopeful he will be available for the November 14 final if they qualify.

Parramatta's centre or full-back Krisnan Inu is a likely replacement after being left out of the first two matches.

The Kiwis led only 16-12 after 42 minutes at Stade Ernest Wallon but cut loose to run in eight second-half tries and secure their first win of the tournament.

Winger Sam Perrett scored a hat-trick and others came from Jared Waerea-Hargreaves (2), Lance Hohaia (2), Junior Sau, Frank Nuuausala, Benji Marshall and Bryson Goodwin, who also kicked nine goals for a personal haul of 22 points.
