Wigan are one game away from the Grand Final for the third successive year after maintaining their late-season purple patch with a 30-16 win at Hull KR.

The Warriors held off a spirited second-half fightback from the hosts to complete the line-up for the last four.

Wigan, who have lost to Leeds in the final eliminator in each of the last two years, will discover their next hurdle on Sunday when the Rhinos choose their semi-final opponents at a televised press conference at Headingley.

With 10 wins from their last 13 matches, Brian Noble's men have once more hit fine form at the right time and Leeds coach Brian McClennan may well want to avoid them on Friday night.

The Warriors played some of their best rugby of the season to open up an 18-0 half-time lead but were forced to sweat over the outcome after Rovers clawed their way back to 18-16 before Martin Gleeson's 64th-minute try enabled them to breathe more easily.

The England centre then added a second in injury time and Pat Richards took his goal tally to five to give his side a flattering margin of victory.

On Friday, Catalans Dragons recorded a 16-6 success at Huddersfield.

The Perpignan club, who only made the Super League play-offs because the system was expanded to the top eight clubs, followed up their shock wins over St Helens and Wakefield by ending the hopes of Challenge Cup finalists Huddersfield.

Tries in the final quarter from winger Dimitri Pelo and second rower Olivier Elima eventually settled an uncompromising preliminary semi-final at the Galpharm Stadium after defences dominated for an hour.

Catalans must now make a fourth successive visit to England next weekend to take on Leeds or St Helens in the semi-finals as they seek to emulate Australian club Parramatta in reaching the Grand final from eight place.
