Experienced prop forward Paul Jackson is among six players to be released at the end of the season by Challenge Cup finalists Huddersfield.
Jackson, 30, who was in the team beaten 25-16 by Warrington at Wembley, is expected to rejoin Castleford.
Also leaving the Giants are Australian Liam Fulton, who is expected to rejoin Wests Tigers, former Harlequins loose forward Joe Walsh and reserve players Richard Lopag, Tom Hemingway and Chris Lawson.
Huddersfield managing director Richard Thewlis said: "Liam was always a short-term option for us after the Todd Carney deal fell away and he has been great to have around the team but he has unfulfilled ambitions in the NRL to pursue.
"Jacko has been a tremendous player for our club but he has an opportunity elsewhere that is the right one for him to accept.
"It's sad in many ways yet the salary cap rules are designed to share talent around the game and stop stockpiling of quality by any one club and sometimes these situations mean that quality people have to move on."
Huddersfield will also lose hooker Scott Moore, who is returning to St Helens after his loan spell, but have signed Wakefield hooker Brad Drew, St Helens second rower Lee Gilmour and South Sydney forward David Fa'alogo and are expected to add Wakefield utility back Scott Grix to their list of newcomers.
