Leeds hope to stop the rot at the expense of Catalans Dragons on the second day of the Magic Weekend in Edinburgh.
The Super League champions have slipped out of the top two after losing four of their last six matches and also crashed out of the Challenge Cup at the hands of St Helens.
It is their worst run since they lost five matches in a row in the summer of 2006 but coach Brian McClennan, now in his second season at the helm, is confident his side's fortunes will quickly turn around.
"Things have been a bit sharper in training this week and we are looking to put in a good performance come Sunday," he said.
The Catalans lost 42-14 at Headingley in March and coach Kevin Walters is refusing to read too much into the champions' recent form.
"You only have to look at what they did two weeks ago, when they took Huddersfield to the cleaners," he said. "They've a lot of quality players."
The Dragons hope to have influential centre Adam Mogg back and were checking on the fitness of captain Greg Bird following his return from Australia while Leeds are boosted by the return of their Grand Final hero Lee Smith, who has missed the last six games with a knee infection.
"It is good to have Lee back this week," said McClennan. "He has given us all a lift in training this week."
