Mick Potter insists he will not be distracted when he makes his first visit to St Helens since being unveiled as their next coach.

Potter, who will succeed Daniel Anderson in the Saints' hotseat next season, has unfinished business with Catalans Dragons, who go to Knowsley Road on Saturday looking to complete a remarkable engage Super League double over the Challenge Cup holders.

Potter boosted his chances of landing one of the most prestigious jobs in the game by masterminding a 24-10 win over Anderson's men in Perpignan in March.

That was the Dragons' third consecutive home win over Saints and sparked a club-record eight-match unbeaten league run that goes on the line at Knowsley Road.

Potter, one of the most laid-back coaches in the game, is in danger of becoming a reluctant centre of attention but insists he is not expecting to be in the spotlight.

"I don't think so," he said. "It's business as usual. I've never been in this situation and I haven't really thought about it.

"People go to watch the players play. It hasn't been an issue so far and I don't think it will be.

"I'm really concentrating on getting a win for Catalans. The focus will be on getting a win and trying to upset St Helens."

Anderson, who has yet to secure a new job ahead of his return to Australia, has given his blessing to his successor but is also keen to play down any personal issues surrounding tomorrow's match.

"Much is being made in the media about it but it won't make any difference to me," he said.

"He is a very good acquisition for the club and (chairman) Eamonn McManus has a history of picking coaches who are hungry for success. Mick is no different.

"The only thing I can say is that he is very privileged to be afforded the opportunity to come to St Helens."

Saints, who will give a late fitness check to Great Britain forward Maurie Fa'asavalu, are aiming for a fourth successive league win, which would enable them to leapfrog the French club into second place in the table.

The Dragons, who have Australian centre John Wilson returning from a six-match absence with a knee injury, have conceded more than 50 points on each of their three previous visits to Knowsley Road.
