Super League
Celtic Crusaders (+8) v Wakefield
Even though Celtic have not won a game, for me they have improved every week.
Out of the teams at the bottom, they are doing their best ability-wise.
Wakefield have been fantastic with the way they have gone about their business considering the injuries they have had.
I just don't think that eight points will be enough for the home side as the Wildcats have some real schemers in the halves and the ability to break up a team around the ruck area.
They can win and cover the start.
Huddersfield v Harlequins (+8)
Some of the results for Harlequins have been amazing so travelling to Huddersfield should not be too much of an issue.
The Giants have improved and been a little more consistent.
They have shown plenty of flair in attack and Brett Hodgson has had a massive influnce there.
I just think that the visitors' form with an eight-point start is too enticing and we will go for them in a what could be a close game.
Warrington v Hull KR (+2)
The handicap on this one looks all wrong to me.
Warrington had 60 points put on against them last week and if it wasn't a team littered with big-name players then it would be a lot different.
I respect the players they have got but the Wolves have lost 10 in a row including the back end of last season and I am going for Hull KR.
They are playing well. Clint Newton is performing, the back row is strong and Michael Dobson is proving once again that he has a great short-kicking game.
Warrington will improve but it will be interesting to see how Lee Briers goes starting from the bench - on form you have to stick with Hull KR getting the start.
NRL
Brisbane Broncos v Melbourne Storm (+2)
The Broncos played very well last week and are at home again.
Melbourne are an extremely talented team but don't have the depth they had last year and there is a fitness doubt over Greg Inglis - if he is out then Brisbane win no question about it.
He is one of the superstars of the game and I think he will play but has a knee injury that could well hamper him.
Both teams form from last week was good but the home ground advantage means Brisbane and Darren Lockyer can win and cover the start in a cracker.
Penrith Panthers (+4) v Canterbury Bulldogs
The Panthers looked ordinary last week and the wet weather helped them otherwise they would have been tanked by Cronulla.
The return of outstanding New Zealand backrower Frank Pritchard will help and they are at home but I don't think the fans will stand it for long if they lose two in a row.
Canterbury were very good last week and the purchase of Michael Ennis and Brett Kimmorley looks like the key to unlock more consistency.
I think they can win and cover the start against what looks like to me a disappointing Penrith team.
All handicaps courtsey of Sky Bet.
