Challenge Cup
Catalans (+4) v Bradford
Catalans have been a big disappointment this season and so have Bradford.
The bad news for Bradford is that Glen Morrison is out for a long period and he has been one of the real workhorses of their pack.
It puts a lot of pressure on other players.
Catalans quite interestingly have been way off the mark after finishing so high up in Super League last season and I just think with home advantage in a new competition, the Dragons can stand up here.
Bradford don't have the firepower and last week's tough derby game with Castleford will have taken a little bit out of them.
Back at home Catalans should be in good shape so take them with a start.
Leeds v St Helens (+4)
This is a classic game and worthy of a final.
Both teams have a couple of queries in terms of personnel - if Sean Long does not play for Saints they can't win but if he does it tips the scales back in their favour.
The return of James Roby and Paul Wellens for the Saints is also a great couple of additions.
But if you look at the last couple of Super League Grand Finals, Leeds have beaten them with a better kicking game and a more ruthless defence in the forwards.
If they can repeat that with home ground advantage, they will be in a fantastic position.
I am going for home team - they are definitely the one to be on and can cover the start.
Hull v Salford (+18)
If you look a Salford's performances recently, they keep conceding 40+ points in every game.
To go away to Hull in a Challenge Cup game could well be another recipe for disaster.
On top of that, Hull have had a good run in this compeition over the last few years and is something they take very seriously.
The loss last week will have jolted them and back at home they will want to turn that around.
They face a team where they can do that and get some confidence and they should kick Salford to death - the latter will always be coming off their line and they don't have any answers to repel that.
I just think that Hull can put up a big score here, especially with the dry track - they will be much too quick and are one of the better bets of the weekend.
NRL
Melbourne Storm v Gold Coast Titans (+12)
Both are coming off good wins last week but you will find that the Titans are very poor travellers and also have Scott Prince out.
The Storm's defence is quite exceptional and they have some star players like Greg Inglis and Billy Slater in really good form.
Melbourne at home are fantastic and will win and cover the start.
Sydney Roosters (+2) v Parramatta Eels
My team the Canberra Raiders played the Eels last week in a very close game and there were some quality stats coming out of the match.
The Roosters have Nate Myles out suspended and his workrate in the ruck area will be a sore loss for them.
Willie Mason is also missing so this is a great chance chance for the Eels to post some points.
They should be a bit more consistent over the 80 minutes and can win and cover the start.
