A mere 12 miles separates the cities Leeds and Bradford but when the two teams meet on the rugby league field brotherly love is in very short supply.
The rivalry between the clubs is legendary – matches are always full bloodied affairs, often characterised by big hits, bad tempers and scintillating rugby.
Players and fans alike love nothing more than to proclaim their club as the `best in West Yorkshire' and with a number of ex-Leeds stars in the present Bulls squad the desire to get the upper hand is stronger than ever.
The clubs have met 15 times in the Challenge Cup, with Leeds holding the upper hand, having registered eight victories, to Bradford's five, with two matches drawn.
However since Bradford ditched their 'Northern' title to become the Bulls in 1995, they have edged Leeds by two victories to one in three semi-final meetings.
Contests between the two giants have become almost impossibly difficult to predict, with the outcome often in doubt until the game's final moments.
