Croft was forced to deny spitting at the Wales wing during the Millennium Stadium clash after coming in for fierce criticism on social networking sites.
But Halfpenny wrote on Twitter: "Guys, just to confirm Tom Croft didn't do what's being alleged of him. He's a top bloke and a great player!"
Croft yesterday took to Twitter to dismiss the claims, saying: Just to clarify, I did NOT spit on Leigh Halfpenny during the England v Wales match, I think it's disgusting and has no place in the game."
Croft made his first start for England for a year following a serious neck injury in the 30-3 defeat, which earned Wales the Six Nations title and denied England the Grand Slam.
