  • Why replacement O'Gara decided to chip will be asked a few times tonight as Pietersen collects and just runs the ball out of play. Victory for South Africa but it wasn't easy as they take the win by 16 points to 12. Thanks for following the action.

  • They go through the phases well until Earls forces a scrum turnover, which won't hurt SA too much as they have plenty of field position on which to defend.

  • Ireland must run from here on in and they do just that from their own half, but it backfires as Zebo loses possession in contact. That means it will be a Springbok scrum on the home ten-metre. There won't be anything flashy in these three minutes.

  • Ireland are on the attack again, this time just outside the 22 as they look for a try that would possibly win this contest. The Boks have done it again though at the breakdown and it's Sharks back-rower Coetzee doing the job superbly for his team.

  • I can make out that Bent, Henderson and Flip van der Merwe have all come on for the closing stages as Eoin Reddan waits to put in just inside his own half.

  • LAMBIE PENALTY! 12-16! What about this then, a Leinster prop doing a job on Ireland. Van der Merwe has just dominated provincial team-mate Ross to hand Lambie a shot from much easier range. This time he makes it so the lead is four.

  • Ireland have taken out a line-out jumper in the air so here is a chance for Lambie from about 52 metres on the angle to take the Boks' lead past a penalty. Short from him this time but it could work out very well for SA as they counter well from the clearance.

  • Another change to mention. Marcell Coetzee is on for Alberts.

  • Ireland are still having good ball though and go through a large amount of phases, this time making metres with it. Here comes Ireland's Donncha O'Callaghan off the bench along with Heinke van der Merwe for South Africa. What a finish we have in store.

  • Ireland are throwing everything at the Boks in attack on halfway but aren't really getting anywhere against this stout defence. Now they will though as Hougaard is caught offside...up steps Sexton from 52 metres on the drops short of the bar.

  • Good news for Ireland as they get a welcome penalty to clear their own lines before Fergus McFadden comes on for Trimble. Pat Cilliers is also on for Du Plessis.

  • Heaslip is back on by the way with R Strauss throwing in on halfway. It is the beginning of a good spell for the hosts as their runners stay strong after the first hit. Within 25 metres here until superb work from Strauss' cousin sees him win an invaluable penalty.

  • LAMBIE PENALTY! 12-13! Ryan is penalised for not releasing the tackler so it is the Boks in front for the first time. Good initial work from Hougaard.

  • The storm is weathered though by Ireland as Healy rips the ball out of Etzebeth's grasp five metres out. That was a massive play from the Leinster loosehead, but Ireland aren't out of the woods just yet. Back come South Africa from 30 metres out.

  • Ireland come roaring straight back though with O'Mahony running well up the middle. However, South Africa come away with possession after Sexton's cross-field is taken by Hougaard, who kicks well for one that Trimble touches in flight. Boks ball 25 out then.

  • LAMBIE CONVERSION! 12-10! Simple enough.

  • PIENAAR TRY! 12-8! The pressure tells as Ulster scrum-half Pienaar scores in quarter-back sneak style, diving over under the uprights for a certain seven points after Barnes' checking with the TMO. If we didn't before, we definitely have a great game here.

  • HEASLIP YELLOW! Strong start from the Boks as Strauss has it at the back of a driving maul. They are within five metres here with clear offsides from Ireland coming, which leads to Heaslip going to the bin. Five metre line-out coming up.

  • Welcome back and we join the game with Healy looking a little groggy after a collision in contact. He comes off (unsure if it's permanent) with David Kilcoyne coming on as the Boks kick a penalty to the corner. Big chance here for the visitors.

  • The half ends with Pienaar having a penalty shot from 60 metres on the angle which is easily short. So, Ireland lead against the odds with South Africa struggling to get going in truth. Declan Kidney will ask for more of the same from his charges. Stay with us!
