2pts Leeds to beat Salford on the handicap

Super League

Friday

Salford (+6) v Leeds

Leeds went through a bit of a sticky patch but are really warming to their task with some big games coming up. They won earlier in the year at home to a Salford team not playing well and it has been an awful long time since they have won a game against the Rhinos. I expect to Leeds to win here with Rob Burrow back and they can cope with Kevin Sinfield out.

St Helens v Widnes (+18)

Widnes will need this start as Luke Walsh is back for the Saints. He is their general and he has to be on the field if they are going to win trophies. Widnes have already beaten St Helens in a high-scoring game and have won on the last two occasions this pair have met. I was impressed with Widnes last time and their structure in attack but away from home I will takes Saints to beat them and cover.

NRL

I am confident the Sydney Roosters can make it back to the Grand Final even though they are currently in fifth place. They came back off the bye last week with a fantastic win and I think they will pulverise a Newcastle team who were very flat at home last time and have a lot of issues off the field.

Penrith face Cronulla out in the country so there is no home advantage. The former's playmaker Peter Wallace is back from injury and Cronulla are down at the bottom of the table and struggle to score points. I expect Penrith to hit back from a loss and look a lot more committed as a team in the top four.
