Tickle and O'Carroll both played in the same team as the Kiwi hooker at Hull FC and they've seen at first hand exactly what he can bring to the Vikings.
"I played alongside Aaron at Hull and he's a great bloke to have around the place," Tickle said.
"His qualities on the field are there for all to see - he's very good around the ruck, he's quick and he's a big threat behind a good forward pack.
"Aaron jumping out of dummy half for us next year will make us very dangerous. You have seen him play with a very good and big forward pack in the past with Gaz Ellis, Mickey Paea and Gareth Carvell and he thrived on that and I'm sure he'll do the same here.
"He's a threat, no doubt about it. He's got really good feet, his acceleration over a short distance is phenomenal and he will cause any team problems." Prop-forward O'Carroll worked closely with Heremaia at Hull FC and he expects him to fit right in at the Vikings.
"I know Aza well and I just know he will fit nicely into our culture," he said.
"Everyone is very complimentary about the culture we have at Widnes and I for one can say that he will only enhance it.
"He's very experienced and the journey he's been on is unbelievable. He's played at every level of the game, for his country and in an NRL Grand Final and he's going to really help develop some of the youngsters we have here." Heremaia has had to bide his time behind Hull favourite Danny Houghton and while he's waited patiently, Tickle believes his full attributes will be extracted by the Vikings coaching team.
"Danny Houghton is a wonderful player. He's a Hull lad and, as with most clubs, they like to keep hold of home grown talent," said Tickle.
"Aaron's maybe not had the game time he would have liked. Although Aza has been great coming on in little stints, he can play the full 80 minutes himself.
"The way he's worked at Hull was perhaps like the way Saints did it a few years ago with James Roby working under Keiran Cunningham and perhaps now he's ready to make his next move like Robes has done.
"He's a very fit guy and he'll relish coming over here - he'll definitely improve us. You need an experienced hooker too, we've got Jon Clarke who has been great for us and we've had Kev and Clarkey dominating the field position and telling us where to go and Aaron will just add more to that.
"He'll also bring on some of the young guys in the club. He's just got that in him and he'll be terrific for us."
