The 29-year-old goal-kicking winger or centre has amassed 992 points, including 80 tries, in 163 appearances since joining the Tigers from Hull in 2007 and said it was a "no-brainer" to extend his stay.
"It's fantastic for me and playing in front of the Tigers fans is a special thing and something that I didn't want to leave," Dixon said
Castleford coach Daryl Powell said: "I am delighted that Kirk has agreed to extend his contract with the Tigers.
"He is a pleasure to coach and works as hard, if not harder, than anyone on his individual game which makes him a role model for young players to aspire towards."
