DOUBLE: Sole Power and Pavlosk.
Sole Power is taken to regain his Coolmore Nunthorpe Stakes crown at York on Friday.
The six-year-old was a shock 100/1 winner of the five-furlong Group One in 2010 but with a string of excellent performances to his credit since, he is on offer at single-figure odds this time around.
His surprise success marked the arrival of Edward Lynam's charge on to the top-level sprint scene and while he has only won four times since then, Sole Power has racked up plenty of placed efforts in the best company.
He won only once in 2011 and again registered a single success in 2012 but he has already got his head in front twice this year, most importantly when beating the reopposing Shea Shea in the King's Stand Stakes at Royal Ascot.
Sole Power was a neck victor that day, avenging a couple of defeats at the hands of Mike de Kock's charge in Dubai earlier in the year.
He came with a storming run that day, despite not having the best of passages, but he could not deliver with similar good effect when tried over six furlongs in the July Cup.
Sole Power still ran an excellent race in finishing fifth but as he has done all his winning over the minimum trip, it is probably fair to say five furlongs is where he really excels.
If the weather forecast is correct and it stays largely dry ahead of the race, Sole Power could take some catching on his favoured fast ground.
Times Up won the Hamilton Insurance Lonsdale Cup last year and he is worth chancing as he tries to hold onto his title.
Trained by John Dunlop last term, Times Up is now with the former handler's son, Ed, and has failed to recapture his sparkle in a couple of outing this year.
Well beaten under a penalty on his return at Sandown, Times Up failed to make any sort of impact when 13th of 14 runners in the Gold Cup at Royal Ascot.
However, he had also not particularly shone before winning this event in 2012 and given a couple of warm-ups and a return to two miles here, he could recapture his best.
Pavlosk did not enjoy the luck of the draw at Goodwood last time but compensation awaits in the Sky Bet Strensall Stakes.
She found the Coronation Stakes at Royal Ascot too big an ask but dropped back to seven furlongs at Group Three level in Sussex, she looked a likely winner only to be handed an unfavourable draw which left her motoring home in the dying strides.
Sir Michael Stoute's charge is certainly improving quickly and, having won over this course and distance earlier in the year, there are no fears on that score.
Winterlude can bring up his hat-trick in the Sky Bet Stakes, while Master The World should build on a promising debut effort at Goodwood in the Sky Bet Mobile Convivial Maiden Stakes.
Majestic Moon can supply a local success for Richard Fahey in the Nationwide Accident Repair Services Stakes.
Quick Jack is an eyecatching runner for Tony Martin in Newmarket's TurfTV Handicap, while Sugarcraft can get on the scoresheet in the Bet totequadpot Text Tote To 89660 Maiden Fillies' Stakes on Ffos Las' mixed card.
Tassel is a consistent performer and her time can come in Goodwood's British Stallion Studs EBF Stakes, with Dartrix a likely type in the Speedflex Fillies' Handicap at Newcastle.
Hamilton also stages an evening meeting where Spin Artist is the pick in the Download The Ladbrokes App Handicap.
