Mighty Man is on course to make his seasonal debut before Christmas.
Trainer Henry Daly is looking at starting his smart stayer in the Long Distance Hurdle at Newbury on November 28 or the BGC Long Walk Hurdle at Ascot three weeks later.
"If he's ready, he could run in the long distance hurdle at the Hennessy meeting at Newbury," said Daly.
"I am not convinced he will be, so he could then run at Ascot."
Mighty Man won the Long Walk in 2006 before finishing second to Inglis Drever in the Ladbrokes World Hurdle at Cheltenham the following March.
He suffered a serious injury just a month later which kept him off the track until March 2009, when he notched a creditable fifth in the World Hurdle at Cheltenham before going on to be second in the John Smith's Liverpool Hurdle at Aintree.
