Davy Russell and Andrew Lynch were in the wars at Ballinrobe after an incident at the third-last in the J.J Burke Subaru Maiden Hurdle.
Lynch's mount Passcini fell, bringing down Russell on Always Fruitful.
Both riders were attended to afterwards, with Russell having damaged his right wrist and Lynch taken to hospital for X-rays on a suspected broken jaw.
The race went the way of the Mervyn Torrens-trained 12-1 chance Dancera, who was given an enterprising ride by 7lb claimer Andrew Thornton.
