Henry Cecil does not send too many runners to Ripon so it is well worth siding with Acquisition in the Go Racing In Yorkshire Handicap.

The three-year-old was making ground hand over fist when fourth on her debut at Windsor and she confirmed a step up to a mile and a half was right up her street when scoring readily at Leicester last time.

An initial handicap mark of 74 looks very workable and as Cecil's only runner of the evening, she should not be left out of calculations.

Applause showed a good level of ability as a juvenile and could well be one to watch this season ahead of her return in the sportingbet Maiden Fillies' Stakes at Windsor.

The daughter of Danehill Dancer was pitched straight into conditions company for her debut but was far from disgraced in finishing third.

She was beaten just a short head despite running keen on her next start at Lingfield and if she has learnt to settle with age, she could well make up into a pretty smart sort over the coming months.
