Analysis

Chris Stam: "He's been the most wonderful horse, and he's paid his way each year. We bought him as a three-year-old at the sales from Jeremy Noseda's yard because he ticked all the boxes, and he's done us proud since. He just loves Epsom, and Stuart Kittow has done a brilliant job with him. He had a lung infection at the beginning of the year and we were so worried about him. He had a wind operation at the end of last year and he's eight years old, so all the statistics were against him. He loves Epsom - he loves it. He got a bit of a low last year when he got a bit too familiar with the course but he had a good second at the end of the season. Then he trod on a nail, so that set him back at the end of the year. So everything was against him, but he did it. He's such a star. Everyone in the yard loves him. It's a small yard and this is a great tribute to small yards - Stuart Kittow is the best!"

Neil Callan: "He always seems to show his best form here. He travelled well and, for such a small field, I always had a good spot. They steadied up a little bit down the hill, which is natural, but I knew that I had a bit of cover and I could creep a place closer coming into the straight. That was probably decisive because I was able to sit and fill him up. When I asked him, he has quickened up and just idled a bit in front. It was a good performance. You don't mind riding them when they try and Stuart's horses are in great form. It is nice to ride another winner on a big day."
