An impressive performance from the unexposed GREEN DESTINY who was making his seasonal reappearance and having just the fourth start of his career. A group of three raced against the stands side rail and never got involved with the majority of the field choosing to race down the centre of the track. It looked like being a tight finish at the furlong pole but the Marju gelding - who is bred to stay further - put the race to bed in a matter of strides and is clearly one to keep on side although the handicapper will obviously have his say whilst connections felt that they only got away with the ground and that Green Destiny is far more at home with some cut in the ground. Proponent looked primed for a big run with Frankie Dettori booked (one from one on the horse) to take the ride following an encouraging run in the Spring Cup. He came to win his race, finished well clear of the remainder and just had the misfortune to bump into a well handicapped horse. He'll probably go back up in the weights for this which won't make life easy. Breakheart had appeared to be coming to hand for his new stable at Doncaster and confirmed that impression with a solid run. He had tracked Proponent through but was made to look rather onepaced in the closing stages although he did keep on for pressure; he has only had eight starts and his new team may be able to eke out a few pounds of improvement. There was a bobbing finish for the places with the front-running Kay Gee Bee just holding on for fourth on his second run for his new stable; he's still feasibly handicapped on the best of his old form. Ellemujie was always well placed and did enough to think that he can pick up a race in less competitive company as did Chapter And Verse. Sand Skier and Brick Red had both progressed well last season but both were well below par last time and neither shone here having held good positions. Cumulus Nimbus needs the cards to drop right and may have benefited from a stronger pace but did make some late headway.
