Analysis

William Haggas: "He was very keen at Newmarket and he hasn't had a saddle on him since then, he does all his work on the treadmill. The problem is getting to the start. I think he'll get a mile and a quarter in time, he just needs to be ridden with restraint. I'd thought of the mile handicap at York, but he'll go up in the weights. There's Doncaster in March (Lincoln), but I'm sure some of our friends from the Far East will be interested in him, too."

Mike Murphy: "It's a killer isn't it? I think we actually lost the race in the first furlong as the plan was to break well but get a bit of cover but he's broken too well and pulled Shane Kelly's arms out for four furlongs. He's actually come out of the race with a lot of credit and, I think, is the best horse in the race. He's done pretty much everything right but has just been done by a horse that we're giving the best part of a stone to. We'll take him home and probably give him a bit of a break now. We'll see what the handicapper does but I'd imagine he'll go up a bit again. It's a shame really as he's one of the stable stars but actually hasn't won for us yet. It was a great run though as the yard is in good form. We can take a lot of heart from the run even though the result wasn't what we wanted. Had the race panned out as we wanted it to, then I think we would have won. It didn't though and that's racing. It's a heartbreaker though."
