Analysis
The rain arrived in the build-up to this race and it turned into a real battle between three horses at the last hurdle. BERTIES DREAM stuck on the best up the run-in to lift the prize at 33-1 but he showed great determination when push came to shove despite drifting to his right. Najaf has always been quite well regarded by Paul Nicholls and he travelled like thunder into the race but could not quite find the extra reserves as the winner pulled clear close home. Things got tight at the last hurdle and Restless Harry looked slightly unsighted and totally misjudged the obstacle. He had been kicked on at the top of the hill and was perhaps feeling the pinch as well - fortunately he got back to his feet after a nasty fall. Arvika Ligeonniere held every chance turning for home but ran out of gas while Silver Kate kept on well after racing prominently. Favourite Tell Massini did not give his running and was pulled up while Shinrock Paddy never looked happy in rear division and also failed to complete.
