Analysis

Fiercely competitive as ever but no-one told FORGOTTEN VOICE, who hacked up under Johnny Murtagh. There was drama beforehand with three horses withdrawn after Docofthebay got upset in the stalls - one of those to miss out was the well-fancied Roaring Forte. He would have had a real job to get to grips with the winner, who eased into contention on the stands side and had things sewn up over a furlong out as Murtagh sent him clear. He won eased down by two and half lengths and he will now have to tackle higher company than handicaps. Huzzah has run in some top handicaps throughout his career and he performed with great credit once again and was unfortunate to bump into such a well-weighted rival. Mia's Boy is another admirably consistent performer and he ran a cracker while Nanton proved his second last year in the Cambridgeshire was no fluke. Clive Cox's pair Soccerjackpot and Dunn'o were in the firing line from an early stage but both backtracked from halfway and could fare no better than mid-division.
