Analysis

A fascinating contest but Nicky Henderson's trio could not cope with the speed of last year's Albert Bartlett Hurdle winner WEAPON'S AMNESTY. Davy Russell always had the leaders covered and simply sped away from the pack approaching the last. Long Run, who made mistakes but looked a big danger turning home, faded into third after the last and looked a non-stayer and stablemate Burton Port snatched second off him on the line. Punchestowns was also going well coming down the hill but went out like a light.
