A rather taking performance. There'll be plenty of hyperbole surrounding this huge talking horse but underneath all of the hype was a very strong performance by WORLD DOMINATION. Settled nicely into a midfield position, he really found a nice rhythm despite appearing to change his legs before leaving the back straight. He was the last off the bridle, and hit the front around two furlongs out whilst still going very well. His lack of experience seemed to shine through a little there as he didn't immediately put the race to bed, but once he found his stride he really put significant ground between himself and the rest, and jockey Tom Queally had the luxury of easing him down late on. There were some ludicrously short quotes for the Derby after this run, but there is no doubt that this fine specimen could be a major player if picking up some more experience in the mean time. He was very green and noisy in the paddock, so it was some surprise that he was so professional in the race, and one would have to worry about the whole occasion of Epsom if this is a trait that continues. It was a one-two for Henry Cecil in the end as Solar Sky stayed on really takingly late on. He was nearer last than first with two furlongs to go but hit top stride when getting clear space out wide (had looked ill at ease amongst horses when the pace quickened) and he should pick up a decent maiden next time. Third home was Reflect who got a lovely tow through the race. He was settled on the rails by Richard Hughes and should have learnt plenty, but he just got a bit tired late on; he'll come on for the run. There was promise from Wayward Glance in fourth who saw his race out nicely. He's qualified for handicaps now but is unlikely to receive an overly generous mark given the three quality maidens that he has contested. Fiorente shaped with promise having been keen in the early stages. This stoutly-bred gelding ran on nicely under hands and heels and with the trainer's debutants generally needing the run, this was a very encouraging debut. Ardlui was held up and he caught the eye running on into a never-nearer sixth. The disappointment of the race was favourite Suhaili although he was never going to see out his race after racing far too keenly in the front-rank; he's worth another chance with the fizz taken out of him by this seasonal return. Atlas Shrugged shaped fairly well further back, along with Sacred Sound who probably didn't relish being trapped out wide for quite a long way. Kuda Huraa should have learnt plenty for this debut especially as he could never get a decent position from his wide draw.
