Analysis

A race that was staged at a very modest gallop and MOSSLEY was able to score under a very confident ride from Barry Geraghty. Always travelling well, he looked as if he had the measure of his rivals as the race came to the boil but he had to survive a late onslaught from David Cottin on Join Together as the Paul Nicholls inmate headed him after the last. The rider refused to panic and his mount responded well to pick up the pieces. Nicky Henderson revealed that he believes the four-year-old is still on the weak side though reminds him of stable star, Burton Port. A tilt at the Albert Bartlett at the Festival would be a possible target though he is likely to go to Newbury for the EBF Final. The second was a winner of an Irish maiden point and he should be more than capable of obliging in any regultation novice. Teaforthree had ran well at Chepstow and was always in the firing line this afternoon. Both he and Old Wigmore had their chances but were not good enough on the day. Highland Valley is probably still immature and having travelled into the contest with plenty of promise, he did not find as much as was anticipated. Galant Nuit is entered for the Welsh National so this was always likely to serve as a warm-up for that engagement. He dropped away with three to jump and should be capable of leaving this run behind.
